My castle I've built way up in the clouds have become a double-edged sword. The very fortifications that have kept me safe all these years have seem to have closed off the rays that I so sorely need.

When will I be ready to lower the draw-bridge.

Maybe there will eventually be a chink in the chain, maybe the salty moat will dry up, maybe a window will be opened, maybe something will be awakened in me.

Already there appear to be cracks along the walls and foundation, if only I could turn back the time...

Found some short films that are worth watching, well except the last one, it's a little iffy since it was made using a gaming engine, I'm playing LSL:Magan cum Laude, and it's a total waste of my time I know, one of those [said with Simpson's comic guy voice] "worst ever title to grace the Leisure Suit Larry series" but what the heck, you take it where you can get it...bleh!

All my life, I've always celebrated my birthday with April kids, 2 of my cousins and an auntie share the same birth month and up till when I turned 16, we always threw an all-in-one party.

In JC, I was fortunate enough to be thrown into this group where I met another 2 fellow goats, thus birthday during those wonderful 2 years of JC was spent throwing, usally grand, band-wide and lavish, Jared-mua-Lingzhao celebrations.

Who couldn't forget my 21st where I celebrated it with the best bunch of friends I could ever wish for.

Down under, I've attended a few April birthdays, but never celebrated my own, unfortunately...till tonight! Yet another trio, though this time not as close (in days apart) as the other triple celebrations, but still, traditions! Aaron-mua-Kenneth!!

Man-o-man, I'm so blodee old...

Thanks guys for everything, for all the birthdays and all the years of love & friendship.

It what I can only attribute to most careful programming, sliced in between this protrayal of how Price William handled life after the death of her mumm, were tv trailers advertising the live broadcast of The Royal Wedding and also the funeral procession of the Pope. This mix of imagery congures up a barrage of very very (strange) mixed thoughts. The documentary on the princes life shedded a mostly glowing picture.

We all enjoy a spot of prince watching don't we, gives us a peek at the life we can never have.

As usual, as with all birthdays, well... actually only mine, it's a largely love-hate thing, more of the latter really...

Over the Air: Slavonic Dances - Dvorak

A brudder (pronounce it redneck Singaporean way) pointed me astray...

Puts the hoot in hooters to shame, sighs, some pple are just so blinking lucky!

An hour and 40 mins and many eyes rolled later, I came to the conclusion that Wing Commander: Space Will Never Be the Same is definately THE worse thing to have lent itself to the Wing Commander series.

Even though having being directed by Chris Roberts, creator of the Wing Commander series of games, many of the original art from the game seem to have been lost in the serie's transition to the big screen.

The Rapier in its transition seems to have shifted a few centuries backward in form and comes across as a WWII era bi-plane with shortened wings and a 20th century fighter's cockpit dashboard bolted together by a 21st century half-wit. A drasticlly pale compaison to its original design in the first Wing Commander that came out in 1990 [see below]. Which is surpising, considering they got the broadsword, one of my favourite fighter in WC:Privateer, relatively accurate in the movie.

The storyline was everything that you could expect from condensing 3 epic games into a 100 minute movie, crap. The everything-you-needed-to-know-about-the-wc-universe direction taken obviously was a setup for failure, transforming things into an educational documentary with action flick and cheesy love story. Need I say more about the acting other than that they had cast Freddie Prince Jr. to be the main character...

On a whole, it's really a shame and also illustrates why somethings just shouldn't make the jump from computers to the movies, though this should change relatively soon judging by the rate in which movie CGI is progressing so well.

Now for the fans that have made it thus far (fans of WC, idiot), there's good news, I've found that there's a privateer remake that you can download and play! Why? Because stinky EA Games has gone and swallowed Origin Systems and WC seems to have disappeared off its radar. So why wait, go experience one of the, and STILL IS, difinitive space sim, Wing Commander.
