Chinks Can't Protest

The trip to the city today was rather eventful.

In addition to the myer winter stocktake sale, DVDs priced so low, they come with a sticker, "Buy me, I'm cheap!" The main shopping district was semi-blockaded when What we assume are immigrants from mainland China, of all ages, choose a freezing winter afternoon to walk around the heart of town carrting around huge banners and placards, protesting protesting against the CCP.

I have nothing against peaceful protests, but I do have something against blatant show of stupidity. Especially when you're part of the already small demographic that represents what people tell me are "my roots" and "my ancestors".

It so happens that in their shallowest of their strongest moment. They have forgotten one very important thing about Australians or Australia- Few people can read or understand Chinese.

What's the bloodee point of decorating all your signs and banners in pretty Chinese characters when the whole point of a protest is to gain awareness for your cause! If you're gonna target your "own people", then just send out newsletters or do what every chink does - they write it down dilligently on pieces of paper, and then proceed to burn it repectfully in some urbanised pass of a wrongly assembled aussie barbercue pit with what I'm to understand, a very very huge bribe. (Geez, and these people are against communism?) Aparently, the world isn't hazy enuff and some gods can read what you've written after you've consigned it to ashes...

Such folly in the world these days!
