The Blade & Chalice

In the labs yet again...

Yesterday, when we were at the Westfield Eastgardens, we saw some tourists posing outside shops and mannequins snapping photos...erm, yeah it's a sub-urbian mall I understand, but gee, a tourist attraction? Now, Westfield Bondi Junction though is different, it's beutiful and offers a real shopping experience.

Anyways, asked the housemate whether he wanted to catch a movie and was surprised to receive a positive reply from the "I need to do work" nerd that he is. So we popped up to Hoyts after lunch and decided to watch Da Vinci code.

He remarked how the theatre was so much more spacious and nicer than back home (Colombia) being his first time in a Hoyts Cinema as opposed to The Ritz Cinema which is the old classic styled cinema (think Capitol Theatre) nearest to uni.

I've kinda taken for granted how nice Hoyt Theatres are here. The seats are ultra-plush, spacing between rows are an estimated 20cm, so like my Colombian mate remarked that you don't get kicked by the person behind yer and this particular layout had it such that the balcony seats start AFTER the stall seats, unlike the others where the balcony overhands the stall seats. I like sitting in the balcony, coz then you don't have to strain your neck to look up at the screen, it's straight ahead in this layout.

Movie was so-so, liked the intrigue of the storyline, got irritated and bored in the middle coz the story seemed to be moving really slowly, guessed as much where and what was gonna happen next after silas got killed...and it indeed play itself out.

Tomorrow's the performance with Kansas State University, I would direct you to the Orchestra's homepage, but it sucks...so here's the page from KSU instead. Too graish really, but at least they have more info about our own performance.
